I hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend. I am bummed that I have to work again today while Roland has another week off, but at least he can watch the baby :)
Let's see, what did we do this last weekend? We discovered the fun of Letterboxing!! What is letterboxing? It is basically a scavenger hunt with clues to find a box with a stamp and a journal. You log your stamp, trail name (just a nickname for your group) and the date. Than you use the stamp in the box to ink it into your personal journal with info about the letterbox. We found 3 here in Manassas and attempted to find a 4th. It was fun and I am looking forward to doing this for years to come all over the country with Roland and Drake. Roland is AWESOME at figuring out clues and enjoys scavenger hunts, I enjoy hanging out with Roland and seeing the stamps. We took some pics, but they are on the camera and I haven't downloaded them yet, I'll post them when that happens.
This was baby's first Christmas. I'll post those picture later too :) He of course was totally oblivious to what was going on, but he got some really nice presents and I look forward to him using / playing with them. We also did my favorite holiday activity - driving around and looking for cool lights. My verdict on Virginia is that they are much better than Madison, WI (there were NO lights on peoples houses, just a town display) but not as good as Massachusetts. There is a local lights display that was really good and had a nice little carnival at the end.
On Christmas Day we went to Mt. Vernon. It was cool to see the 3rd floor which is only open during the winter months since people have to go up and down the same staircase, which would be impossible when they are busy. There were actually quite a few people there. Weather-wise it was cool but not cold.
Drake eating his hand :)
